Digitized - book summary
Bull, Bernard Dean. Digitized: Spiritual Implications of Technology. Saint Louis: Concordia Publishing House. 2018.
“Digitized” by Bernard Bull, addresses the intersection of faith life and the digital world, providing a biblical perspective about technology, seeking to give Christians and overview of challenges and opportunities of the digital age, as well as tools for a sanctified life in making use of them.
Through its pages the author works on answering two questions. In the first part of the book, he deals with “How does technology shape us?”, in chapters such as “We Build Tools, and then they build us”, “You are a consumer and a product”, “Being connected is a value”. In the second part, the second question is addressed, “How do we respond?”, with topics like “Think like a missionary” “God’s Word as a lamp and Guide in the Digital World” and “Keeping first things first”.
Readers should realize the fact that one cannot choose the age in which to live, but one can decide how to respond to that age.
